Latinas With Disabilities and Mammography Project
This pilot research project is community-based research being conducted by the University of California San Francisco and CCCIL (Central Coast Center for Independent Living). During 18 months, January 2007-June 2008, 100 Latina women with physical or sensory limitations/disabilities will participate in a class on the value of mammography, cancer prevention, and strategies for working with medical providers to improve access to health and mammography screening services in the Salinas Valley. Classes will be co-taught by a health educator and a promotora de salud (health promoter).
